Winter can wreck havoc on your skin. Dry heat, dipping temperatures can make it seem as if dull, dry and clogged skin is a necessary evil. So, we are sharing some winter beauty tips to ensure you survive the cold winter months, gorgeously!

Hydrate the air. Invest in a humidifying to decrease the dry heat, especially while you sleep!

Change your bathing routine. Restrict showers to less than 5 -10 minutes, use lukewarm water and apply moisturizer right after exiting the shower. 

Exfoliate regularly. A little exfoliation speeds skin turnover, helping both to trigger a natural repair process and to build Collagen and Elastin.

Remember that the more frosty or sparkly your lipstick or lip gloss, the more obvious your chapped lips will be, so use a lip moisturizer or a lipstick or gloss with moisturizing benefits and limited sheen.

Apply SPF. It is just as important to apply SPF in winter months as it is during summer. SPF not only protects us from the UV rays (especially when they are reflected up from the snow), but it also creates a protective barrier against the harsh wind and extreme cold temperatures. 

Heal lips while you sleep. Keep a natural, therapeutic lip balm or Vaseline on your night stand and swipe it on before bed to restore your lips while you sleep.

Apply body oil all over your body immediately after you step out of the shower, while your skin is still wet. The combination of oil and water helps to lock-in more moisture than when you apply to dry skin.

Hydrate from the inside out with lots of water and high anti-oxidant herbal and green teas. During the winter, there’s a tendency not to drink as much due to cool temperatures.

Dry brush. Dry skin brushing your skin before showering helps to shed dead skin cells, which can help improve skin texture and cell renewal, while also increasing circulation, detoxifying, reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Ditch the scented and deodorant soaps, which tend to dry the skin, and use super fatted soaps or moisturizing body washes instead. 

Hydrate with honey. Honey is great for your skin. On those cold winter days massage some honey into your skin and leave on for a few minutes. Next, take a hot towel (for the steam) and lay it on your face and then rinse with cool water, locking in moisture with a few drops of olive oil. Honey adds moisture and it’s also anti-bacterial, so it’s great for blackheads.

Put petroleum jelly on your feet with cotton socks at night to keep dryness at bay.

Load up on Omega-3s. A diet full of omega fatty acids naturally makes skin softer and smoother from the inside. Sprinkle raw almonds on your oatmeal or favorite cereal, or add sunflower seeds to your salad or sandwich, to supply your body with essential fatty acids and important trace minerals.
